Position Open for Associate Dean at the University of Illinois at Chicago
The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing, one of the top nursing schools in the country and 6th nationally for NIH funding for nursing, is dedicated to a rich, innovative, and diverse collaborative culture to advance global nursing leadership. Located in the heart of Chicago - a vibrant, metropolitan area – UIC College of Nursing, one of seven campus health science colleges, is a research-intensive institution with progressive academic programs and innovative faculty practices.
We invite doctorally prepared individuals to apply for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of academic programs and student services. The Associate Dean promotes a student body that represents diversity and academic excellence, advances innovative pedagogy, fosters an environment that endorses student achievement and support, and provides leadership in curricula and program development, implementation, evaluation, and accreditation. The Chief Academic Officer of the College of Nursing, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is a key member of the Dean’s leadership team and will provide strategic insight and assist the Dean in setting institutional goals.
The UIC College of Nursing has five sites: Chicago, Peoria, Quad Cities, Rockford, and Urbana. Academic programs include BSN, RN-BSN, Graduate Entry program, MS, DNP and PhD. The student body typically includes 350 undergraduate and 650 graduate students.
A candidate must have licensure (or be eligible for licensure) as a registered nurse in Illinois, be doctorally prepared with a track record of nursing scholarship, and professor rank or eligible for promotion to professor. Administrative experience is preferred.
